GYST 2.0 Screenshots — Capture, Organise & Discover with Privacy

Life in 2021.
We spend more time in front of our digital smartphone screens than we do in front of anything else. Through these screens, families are interacting with their loved one’s, teams are conducting meetings, students are learning online, fans are watching sports, travellers are exploring new places, influencers are connecting with their audience, entrepreneurs are sharing new ideas & of course MEMES, they’re everywhere.

GYST 2.0 Screenshots — Capture, Organise & Discover with Privacy

Off/On Screen Memories

In day-to-day life when we experience new things, we tend to take out our smartphone & “click” a picture of it & save it to view later or post on social media. These are Off Screen Real Life Experience Memories we collect. But now when most of the day-to-day stuff is being done on these smartphone screen itself, we capture these digital moments via “Screenshot”. Be it a work related page that you want to share or an assignment solution you want to reference later or a productivity hack, a clever idea, a wisdom quote, a funny meme, a to-do thought, a health advice, a travel destination or anything that we like on our screen & save it for later. The hard truth we haven’t realised is that the later becomes never. You think “Just in case. I might need it later” you take that screenshot but all that does is just put that screenshot in your case (phone) & pile up.

“Later Becomes Never.”

We capture a lot of random stuff thinking it’s important & completely forget about it moments later to never look back. Screenshots are the moments you only capture once. We don’t take multiple screenshots of the same thing again and again (Some do take a screenshot of a screenshot to bring it in front of that huge pile of screenshots).

Taking screenshots is only meaningful if we actually see or reference them later. This same thing has happened with our digital photos for which we rarely find time to look at. We just post the beautiful (Edited) one’s and leave the rest to clutter forever.

Enough talking. Let’s get to the point. I want to share the new GYST 2.0 update which allows you to re-discover & capture your screenshots in a better way with Action Tiles -

Screenshot Actions & GYST-Wall button in Notification Tiles

GYST-Wall (Re-discover screenshots as your wallpaper)

Well GYST 2.0 can help you re discover those captured moments via the same screen. With GYST-Wall feature, whenever you unlock your phone you’ll see a random screenshot you captured as your wallpaper. You may either like or discard it depending on its value at that point of time but you would at least be able to enjoy or refer to those moments again. You can pause/resume this feature with a single toggle option in notification tile area.

Multiple Screenshot Actions in 1 Tap

Screenshot Actions

Sometimes you see something on your screen & just want to share that with your friends instantly. The only way to do this is by taking a screenshot & sharing it. You forget to delete it after sharing and doing this more often leads to the random clutter of screenshots you find in your gallery which makes no sense after some time.Well, GYST 2.0 have a

“Don’t Save. Just Share”

feature accessible from Screenshot Actions in your notification tile which can instantly share anything on your screen without leaving any screenshot file in your gallery. The other Screenshot Actions are Just Save, Save & Share, Save & Add To Stack, Save & Share which all saves the screenshot in app’s private internal storage & are not visible outside in other apps like Gallery, Facebook, Whatsapp, Photos etc.

This solves two issues as-

  1. Screenshots do not clutter your regular camera photos.
  2. Screenshots are protected from any kind of snooping.
Save Screenshot + Link

L̶o̶n̶g̶ Screenshot + Link

Why do people take long screenshots? Maybe to capture a long private chat conversation & sharing it with someone else (Not cool!) or to capture a full webpage or a block of article or a twitter/reddit thread which doesn’t fit your smartphone screen length all at once. I’d rather send the source url with just the headline screenshot. No one’s going to read the whole screenshot. The screenshot recipient doesn’t have the time to view/read the whole screenshot. They can get the gist from just the headline screenshot & choose to further explore with the attached url. When you like something on your smartphone screen just look for the share button & press it, select “SS + URL” under GYST app icon and that’s it. You’ve just saved the screenshot along with its source link. Now share it or keep it saved to refer later (When you don’t remember where that screenshot came from).

To reassure your privacy, the android app doesn’t require INTERNET Permission.

Well you can download the GYST android app from here &
